A contract conservator treated 19 monuments and statues and 5 historic cannon on the state capitol grounds, Raleigh, North Carolina. Treatment of bronze consisted of cleaning and removal of corrosion by glass-bead peening and hand tools; repair; repatination with water solutions of selenium; and protective coating with a mixture of beeswax, other natural materials and naphtha rubbed on and heated. Incralac was applied to a bronze and iron fence. Nontechnical descriptions of the metal treatment, stone cleaning, maintenance instructions, and contract provisions are presented.
