Abstract
The amounts of copper, tin, lead, zinc, iron, nickel, silver, antimony, and arsenic in 106 Hasmonaean coins were determined by atomic absorption spectrometry. The results of analysis by means of a triangular diagram and multivariate cluster analysis provided evidence for the existing theories on the Hasmonaean coinage. Besides that, important new arguments for the discussion of the Hasmonaean coinage could be provided.
