Abstract
From an archaeological site east of Cologne, 118 samples of iron ores were analyzed; they were grouped into seven types of different origin. Besides oolithic iron ores, there are ironbearing sandstones and siliceous iron ores of sedimentary and vulcano-sedimentary origin. The microscopic properties and the results of geochemical analysis are listed. -- AATA
