Abstract
During a renovation project of New Town, Edinburgh, various private and/or civic groupshave been securing old architectural ironwork from which to make reproductions. Street lamps fitted with electrical fixtures have been placed upon selected roadways. An aluminum pattern is currently being used for these reproductions; if the demand increased, the carving of the master pattem in timber would be justified and greater definition would be preserved in the reproductions. Cast iron is being used for railings along the roadways; the protective coating for these is described. -- AATA
