Abstract
To connect the blades of daggers with their hilts, peculiar types of rivets were used in the Bronze Age in Brittany. The rivets are surrounded by hulls of organic materials, usually bone or wood. The definition of a rivet is discussed: strictly speaking, the metal pieces used to connect the two parts are pins, which permit a separation of parts without destroying them, while a rivet has to be broken, ifjoined parts are separated. -- AATA
