Abstract
Twenty-five copper-alloy objects from the Royal Cemetery at Ur (Sumer, Early Dynastic period) were analyzed by atomic absorption analysis. Nine are of tin bronze, eight of arsenical copper, two of a copper/arsenic/tin alloy, and six are of relatively pure copper. Separate investigation of a copper bowl showed that its silver lugs were attached at a junction rich in tin, therefore probably involving a tin solder.
