Abstract
Traditional datable wood samples do not allow the structural analysis of paludal archaeological sites where all posts need to be analyzed. That is why, in this case, the dendrochronologist should use an archaeological approach where dendrochronological curves have to be considered as archaeological artifacts. The validity of the method (applied to French Alps, Leman Lake, and Neuchatel Lake sites) is tested by the verisimilitude of the resulting models of the structural evolution of these sites.
