This paper provides an overview of the “Proyecto de Renovation Museografica (Museographic Renovation Project)” of the textile collection currently underway at the Museu Casa Rui Barbosa (Rui Barbosa’s Home-Museum), describing the project rationale and primary approaches of the research methodology, in order to demonstrate how decorative textiles can be articulated into the museography for the purpose of elucidating economic and social aspects of the historical context of these artefacts’ production.
