Abstract
This article analyzes the theoretical and practical considerations with regard to the restoration of the façade of the Santo Domingo Church in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas (Mexico). In view of these, the team in charge of the work decided to undertake pictorial retouching in order to n=match the original color: the implications of this intervention are discussed here.
