Describes operative criteria for the stress analysis of masonry buildings whose data on local geometrical configuration, physical properties of materials and loading history are incomplete or only partly available. The use of experimental data obtained from non-destructive in situ tests concerning material mechanical characteristics and local stress and strain states (stress relaxation methods) are discussed.
