Abstract
The history of the Cowan Pottery Studio (1912-1931) is discussed in detail. Founded by R. Guy Cowan near Cleveland, Ohio, the studio produced pottery during the arts and crafts movement. The formula for Cowan's Chinaware Body is included, as are formulas for two of their famous glazes. A third glaze using uranium is also mentioned, as are methods of preparing clay, glazing, and firing. -- AATA
