Some forty Neolithic stone axes from the London region, including the Thames and the old county of Middlesex are examined in thin section. Nearly thirty axes from groups I, VI, VII, IX, XV, XVI, and XX are identified and discussed. Eight axes which are of uncertain group or outside the groups are also described. The aim of this report is to generate discussion, to comment on the bases used to describe the groups, and to improve the interchange of information between workers. County numbers are not yet assigned, since the material is destined for a later official report. -- AATA
