Carefully controlled exposure tests using a variety of light sources combined with light-dark-heat-moisture cycles confirmed that the most significant factor influencing the rate and character of degradation of organic coatings is the spectral energy distribution of the light source. An attempt is made to assess the significance of current laboratory testing programs in simulating the synergistic effects of radiation, heat and moisture with controlled laboratory conditions. -- AATA
