A method for studying the macroporosity of pottery by making a replica of a cut surface of the sherd is described. The results show that the examination of the replica is more satisfactory than the direct examination of either a cut or polished surface of the sherd and that it is possible to map pores with diameters as small as 10 mum by this method. -- AATA
