Abstract
The old arsenal of the Genoa’s harbour, the Galata Building, was transformed into the naval museum by the technique of addition and hollowing out. Adding a new transparent and light façade to the building allowed creating a wide hall and a viewing-point space. Emptying the interior promoted the reutilization of the structure and strengthening the vigour of the vaulted spaces.
