Abstract
The work performed on the five surviving cast iron bridges in Central Park, New York City, is summarized. Restoration of parts has been possible because original drawings of balustrades had been preserved at the municipal archives. The proposed continuing maintenance program will include regular painting, graffiti removal, deck repair, and gutter cleaning.
