This lengthy study of two Italian trecento paintings in the Louvre collection -- Saint Martin Dividing his Cloak with the Beggar and Rebel Angels Driven from Heaven Toward Earth-considers their date and authorship, their place in trecento art, and how they document an exceptional connection between Florentine and Sienese painting. The study begins with ashort conservation history of the two works, and includes a description of their punchwork along with a brief discussion of the employment of similar punchwork (pp. 572-573). -- AATA
