A selection of the fine pottery found at Benghazi was analyzed by AAS. Hellenistic black-glazed wares and micaceous pottery attributed to S.W. Asia Minor were studied, the results being processed by cluster analysis and principal components analysis. The archaeological groupings were largely validated, and several suspected correlations were confirmed. A program of comparative analysis was carried out, using similar material previously analyzed by OES, and the implications are discussed.
