Abstract
Article is directed against criticism of drilling methods used to obtain samples from ceramics. Heating by drilling is an unlikely cause of absence of high temperature thermoluminescence for a ceramic. The hardness of the ceramic does not affect the result either. An ancient Persian bowl is used as an example. -- AATA
