Abstract
Reports on a study based on a discussion of Athenian agora coarse ware. General subject: composition of cooking and other household wares used in Athens during the sixth, fifth and fourth centuries B.C., sources for the components of the pots, and variations in their composition. A polarizing microscope was used in the study. Athenian ware, Aeginetan ware, and Corinthian ware were studied. The composition of the clay and mineral inclusions is given. Techniques of manufacture are discussed.
