Abstract
Preliminary observations made on the following types of attack: the cycling of moist and dry air through samples of fresco materials; the effects of an atmosphere of high concentration of moist sulfur dioxide gas on similar fresco samples; the effects of capillary seepage of distilled water into similar samples; the effects of capillary seepage of a 3% solution of potassium nitrate in distilled water into similar samples; and the effects of capillary seepage of a 3% solution of sodium sulphate in distilled water into similar samples.
