Fresco technique is discussed, including pigments which can and cannot be used in frescoes, The former are calcium carbonate, iron oxides, green earth, ultramarine, Egyptian blue and charcoal black, The latter, which are subject to alteration, are lead white, azurite, malachite and cinnabar.
