The theory that the copper-nickel alloy used by a few of the Graeco-Bactrian kings for coinage was imported from Southwest China is again refuted. After a discussion of the origin and history of this theory, particular attention is given to refuting the arguments recently advanced in its support by Cheng and Schwitter <i>(I.I.C. Abstracts 1461). No real evidence for the manufacture and use of coppernickel alloys in ancient China has yet been produced. -- AATA
