This study deals with a low pressure vacuum consolidation treatment where pneumatic instruments temporarily diminish the amount of humidity present within the different plasters, guided by a diagram of the state of conservation of the mosaics, and permit the local consolidation, point by point, of the altered areas. The treatment results in even consolidation between the separate deteriorated areas and the surrounding healthy and compact areas. In addition this system allows complete control by the operators of the following processes: a. Penetration of the binder b. Directional guidance of the binder c. Quantity of binder used. This integral system of consolidation can be carried out either manually or by an automatic process, using a digital control of all procedures. -- CAL -- CAL
