Describes pre-cleaning with naphtha, trichlorethylene, ethyl alcohol, or ethylene dichloride for lacquers followed by deionized water; chemical cleaning of corrosion or tarnish using an acidic cleaner; polishing with BTA and alpha alumina, 600-grit silicon carbide, and pumice; and the use of microcrystalline wax, B72, or Incralac as a protective coating.
