Abstract
The Dinosaur Laboratory, University of Utah, tried Dow Chemical vinyl ester resin XD-8029 as a foam casting medium. It proved to have several advantages over plaster of Paris. It is lighter in weight, more inert chemically, faster and easier to work and finish and has minimal shrinkage. The article lists equipment and materials used, and describes and illustrates step-by-step procedures.
