In case of waterlogged finds, three phases of work are strongly connected, that is, conservation, restoration and reconstruction. The wet objects must not get dry quickly. The most important constituent that should be injected to leather with the help of various solvents, is fat. It is very important to have a good control of the rate of drying and possibly, no pressure should be exercised on the drying leather. Special care should be devoted to compiling pieces that used to be connected, functionally. Holes, folds, fractures might help in reconstructing the original connection of the pieces. In case of reconstructing, a pair of shoes, for example, consultation with a shoemaker can be very useful. -- AATA
