Abstract
Paper impressions or squeezes of Greek inscriptions are made by laying a dampened sheet of filter paper upon the surface of the stone to be recorded and then pounding the moistened paper with a fine-haired brush until it has been impressed in every chiseled marking upon the stone. Methyl methacrylate is recommended as a method for increasing the durability and to make it moisture and water resistant.
