Abstract
Representative samples of vegetable-tanned leather in an advanced state of degradation were submitted to experimental total or partial impregnation. The purpose of the investigation was to devise a treatment that would improve the physical properties of leather objects with the least possible interference with the appearance of the object. Five possible impregnating materials are compared and tested, all of them artificial resins. -- AATA
