Abstract
A variety of papers were tested for pH by maceration with distilled water in a blender and measurement with a digital readout pH meter. The authors estimate that the usual album page would have a useful life of 100 to 150 years and point out the danger to stamps stored in them. A pH 8.5 paper is sought. Mylar or Kodacryl pochettes are recommended. (See <i>AATA 17-1096). -- AATA
