This thesis is a monograph on textile conservation work at the museum, with particular emphasis on the working conditions of textile conservators. The main hypothesis is that the working conditions and the competence of the staff will reflect the quality of the conservation. The underlying question is whether the results of the conservation work are satisfactory, which means that the use of the conserved artifacts in the museum's task of conveying information, may lead to insight. -- AATA
