Abstract
Details the features of a three-part baroque secretary, a so-called parrot secretary, produced in Kirchheim unter Teck, a small Swabian town, around 1725 and notes how each locality, at the time, developed its own recognizable style. Mention is then made of previous restoration efforts and how the present restorers removed additions that were not part of the original features and tried to come as close as possible to the original construction. Shellac was removed and furniture wax, according to old recipes, used as a finish.
