Abstract
Corrosion of electrolytic Cu 99.9% was studied in 0. 02M-NH<sub>4</sub>C1 solution in the presence of a number of aldehydes, at room temperature. Cinnamaldehyde and furfuraldehyde were effective inhibitors while paraldehyde and formaldehyde were less effective. Benzaldehyde accelerated the rate of dissolutions while chloro-substituted benzaldehyde gave complete protection. -- AATA
