Abstract
Advances in the understanding of bone diagenesis are leading researchers to isolate those amino acids which derive from the burial environment, thus helping to improve the accuracy of accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) dating. Various ways of recovering contamination-free collagen are under investigation.
