Abstract
Textile objects incorporate a wide range of collagen and keratin materials. This paper discusses feathers and baleen, two keratin materials frequently encountered in textiles and treated by conservators of textiles and organic materials. The purpose of the paper is to broaded conservators' awareness of these materials, discuss potential problems, and offer possible solutions where appropriate. -- CAL
