Abstract
The author describes a unique decorative textile technique, done by the Kalabari people of Nigeria, and used to decorate both men's and women's wrappers. Areas of the light-colored threads in striped or plaid cotton fabrics are cut out in the form of geometric motifs. This technique, of unknown origin, bears a resemblance to European cut and drawn-work.
