A brief history of the use of metals in architectural contexts is provided for each metal. Craftsmanship of each metal identifies the limitations of that metal which should be observed in working it and what natural qualities should be enhanced. Current developments cover enamelling, monel metal, depositing copper on glass, steel, electroplating, and chemical surface action. Specifications define the quality control which is expected of the providers of the architectural metal. -- AATA
