Abstract
The physico-chemical characterization of pigments used in easel paintings provide valuable indications concerning the age of the artwork, and occasionally gives indications about the geographic origin of the ores. After a review of the operating principles of electronic microsound, the first results obtained through the microanalysis of paint samples are presented with a view to the non-destructive analysis of the impurities of lead white.
