Refers to the recent purchase by Leicestershire Museums, England, of the picture entitled The Choirboy by the artist Georges de La Tour (1593-1652). Mention is made of the restoration of the picture by the Arts Conservation Staff of Leicestershire Museums and Art Galleries. There is reference to the painting technique of Georges de La Tour. The picture is painted on a medium-weight, plain-weave canvas to which a greyish preparation or ground layer was applied. An x-radiograph of the picture was made. Pigment analysis was carried out, showing the presence of the pigments tin-lead yellow and vermilion. -- AATA
