Funding for the cleaning and restoration of the frescoes in the Sistine Chapel has been provided by Japanese television (NTV). Consequently the entire restoration process is being documented on film. Cold lighting is used during the filming. Some of Michelangelo's techniques have become evident during cleaning; the cleaning process is described.
