Archaeological objects are frequently excavated with remains of textile fibers on their surface. Especially on metal objects those fibers can be found. Using the example of a fibula from the migration period, it is shown how the fibers could be preserved without influencing the treatment of the metal object. Under the microscope, the material of the fibers and the technique of sewing can be studied and documented.
