Abstract
The distribution of 39 pigments and pigment mixtures on authenticated paintings from 1300-1900, examined at the Doerner Institute since 1960, are shown. Analytical methods were microscopic examination, determination of elements by spectrographic or microchemical analysis, x-ray diffraction powder method and infrared absorption spectrography. The use of a laser beam in combination with emission spectrographic analysis is plainned.
