Abstract
Experiments performed in 1801 by Cornishman Humphry Davy and Thomas Wedgwood with light-sensitive chemicals which produced the first photographs are mentioned. Some of the earliest extant photographs of Cornwall taken in 1841 by Fox Talbot are reproduced, which record the historic Carclew house burned to the ground in 1934. -- AATA
