A report on the present status of toxic, mutagenic, carcinogenic and teratogenic information on the solvent 1,1,1-trichloroethane. Interesting information: Solvent is well-absorbed orally and by inhalation, and is also absorbed through the skin. In man, most (70% plus) of the absorbed material is excreted unchanged in the breath. Animal studies of mutagenicity, carcinogenicity, and teratogentic effects are discussed and are guardedly negative. -- AATA
