Organic substances containing nitrogen and sulfur are potential in-hibitors of corrosion of metals and alloys. The inhibition of corrosion of alpha and alpha + beta brasses by sodium diethyldithiocarbamate (NaDDC) has been investigated, particularly corrosion of 80/20 and 59/41 brass in solutions of sodium chloride (0.5 N), sodium hydroxide (1.0 N) and buffer solutions of sodium hydroxide and citric acid (4gte to 6.0 pH). Corrosion inhibition of 80/20 brass was almost complete. -- AATA
