Abstract
Describes restoration of the mansion located on the old way to the park of the Hôtel Royal des Tournelles, built by Nicolas de Croisilles, completed in 1620. There were no internal elements in its structure or ornamentation worth being preserved, except for the framework and the 17th-century stairway. The facades were treated in order to bring out their individual character and their identity. The emphasis was deliberately placed on complementarity and contrast, and both on the enhancement of the historic site and on modernity.
