Abstract
William Morris was one of the founders of the British Arts and Crafts movement in the 19th century. Morris is best known for his textile designs. The effects of the Arts and Crafts movement on similar movements in the United States, Germany, Austria, and other countries are explored, notably the Wiener Werkstaette, organized by Josef Hoffmann, and the Guild of Handicraft, organized by C.R. Ashbee.
