Abstract
Describes the rebuilding of Rothenburg. The intention of the citizens of Rothenburg has been to maintain the urban fabric and the street pattern but to reconstruct the new buildings as modern architecture. The main idea in reconstruction of the damaged buildings was not to copy them (except in the case of the town hall and other important buildings) but to build modern housing. Details the most important points of the city ordinance concerning building styles.
