The behavior of pigmented paint films on reflecting substrates was investigated, using a spectophotogoniometer on metallic paints. The angle dependence of the hiding power was measured on partially covering metallic paints, thus showing the great increase in hiding power on approaching the angle of total reflection. The azimuth dependence of the diffuse reflectance values, a frequent characteristic with metallic paints is also noted. -- AATA
