Comparisons are made among various attitudes regarding the role of scientist and archaeologist. Points are made by discussants in direct criticism of issues addressed in papers delivered by R. Ervin Taylor, Richard E. Linington, Robert Maddin, Josef Riederer, and Stanley E. Warren. Several other training programs are described, with some of their limitations and advantages cited.
